An update from the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) recently communicated Executive Order 14247 mandating the transition to electronic payments for all federal receipts and disbursements and its plan to comply.  Effective September 30th, 2025, the Bureau will cease issuing paper checks for disbursements and will begin processing all payments made to TTB electronically.

If you have a tax refund and drawback claim, you will need to include your banking information so that your claim can be processed and your refund can be disbursed electronically.

TTB will issue new forms that provide new claim with banking information sections for:

  • TTB F 5620.8 – Claim Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms Taxes
  • TTB F 5110.30 – Drawback on Distilled Spirits Exported
  • TTB F 5120.24 – Drawback on Wine Exported
  • TTB F 5130.6 – Drawback on Beer Exported
  • TTB F 5620.7 – Claim for Drawback of Tax on Tobacco Products, Cigarette Papers, and Cigarette Tubes

If you’re utilizing the https://my.ttb.gov/ platform, you’re able to add your banking information now – TTB has created a guide to help you with the process.

If you have questions, the TTB’s Office or Permitting and Taxation is available at 1-877 882 3277, option 4.
